Communicate regarding Turkey and Syria earthquakes

The impact of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria has been truly shocking and our thoughts are with all those who have been affected.

As a result of this disaster, the Trustees of the Belron Ronnie Lubner Charitable Foundation have agreed to support the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) appeal with a£100,000 donation, which was made this week.

Although the Foundation tries to support small, local organisations wherever we can, we have been advised that the most effective way for us to provide support is through the DEC. The DEC is made up of 15 member charities who are experts in humanitarian aid and specialise in different areas of disaster response. They have experience of working in these emergency situations and are able to coordinate responses in partnerships with local agencies on the ground. The DEC’s partnership charities are working now to provide food, water, shelter, medical suppliers to hospitals and clinics, and safe spaces for women and children.
